October until April
KV Kennels is only open seasonally from the first week in October until the week of high school Spring Break in April. The dream is to move off Oak Grove Resort property and have my own year around kennel, but for now we are working with the opportunity we were given! Read more below for a better explanation.
Why can't KV Kennels be open year around?
My parents and grandparents gave me this awesome opportunity to chase my dreams. We had an open side of the barn that sat empty at Oak Grove Resort that I thought had so much potential. I pitched the idea to my parents and my dreams began. The only thing about it being at the campground is that my play yard blocks one of the main roads for campers. Unfortunately, this means that I cannot have my kennel open when the campground is open for business. I would not have any space for the pups to play outside or even simply go to the bathroom. Which in my eyes is not fair to the dogs or their well being. The care of each dog is my top priority!
Why should you still choose KV Kennels?
I am hoping you still choose KV Kennels, because in the seasons that are cold, dark and long I would love to keep your dog well exercised and socialized while you are at work or have a long day of errands. In the Spring and Summer months you are more likely to play long games of fetch with your dog after work or take them on long walks after dinner. Let me tire out your pups for you while you are away from home for the day, so when you get home from work you can snuggle up on the couch with your tuckered out pup and not have to bare the cold or the dark.
